Planning Your Business for 2021

Show Notes

It’s no secret that 2020 was…somethin’ else. When things are feeling out of control, it might feel weird to try and plan things out but it’s actually a great way to reduce some of that stress and anxiety, and feel more confident walking into the unknown. We’ve applied that thought process in this episode by outlining three main areas to look at within your business as you plan for success in the new year:

  1. Follow the money – what did/didn’t bring in a profit?
    • Audit your income from this year. What areas did you see the most revenue coming in from? What maybe didn’t make a ton of money? Don’t forget to also check out your expenses and investments, and determine how to budget for the new year.

  2. What are the analytics telling you?
    • Social media, website, email analytics – the whole shebang. What content are people loving? Hating? Where are people coming from? What does your actual audience look like in comparison to your target audience? What feedback have you gotten from your clients, and how should that inform your content marketing, services, processes, etc. moving forward?

  3. What felt great?
    • We started these small businesses as entrepreneurs because we wanted to do work that fulfilled us. Maybe there were some services you did that didn’t feel the best, and you didn’t feel fulfilled. You’re not working for anyone else, and you can choose who you want to work with, what services you want to offer, and what products you want to sell. Let’s make sure 2021 is the year of completing fulfilling work for your business.

At the end of the episode, we also chat through some personal goals, and a few podcast ones too!
